All The Time In The World

I’m having a great time opening up on these beautiful Heather Maloney songs and playing them with such incredible musicians. It’s been on my mind lately that we have all the time in the world. All of us. For instance this tour is only two weeks long (and we’re about a third of the way through), but we have ALL that time – the WHOLE two weeks – to really lock in and polish our show together. It seems the more relaxed and less worried I am about time, the more motivated I am to use all that time. Time that’s been freed up by simply not worrying anymore.

Maybe that’s my internal spring cleaning talking but I’m hoping this sticks. Enjoy your moment :)

Love,
Ryan

After more than two full years of planning and recording, I’m so proud to announce that my very first ever record will be released online on APRIL 2nd! This includes iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, CD Baby, Google Music Store, Last.fm, iHeartRadio, Rhapsody and many more places to buy and stream my EP!

I’m planning on making this just the first of many records of my original music. I hope you’ll stick with me, as I couldn’t imagine continuing without you! The love and support you show keeps me feeling proud, humble and grateful every single day. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share this music with you!

Also, stay tuned for a page dedicated to this record. It will include a full listing of all the musicians and engineers involved with this record as well as links to all their websites. I couldn’t have done this record without any of them so I hope you’ll all check out their music, too!

One of our first favorite festival experiences!

We (‘we’ being one of my first projects. The band was called 3VE and we were all 15-18 at the time)… anyhow, we were invited to play StrangeCreek Music Festival back in 2006. We weren’t offered the best time slot, but we worked with what we had. Our tour manager was friends with the promoter of the event and had him make an announcement about our set after the main stage act got off stage. Needless to say, we were told that we brought the largest crowd to the remote ‘Vernville Stage’ that they had ever seen. We loved the show, we thrived off of the crowds energy, and it’ll surely go down as one of our favorite memories to date. Fortunately a friend of our Tour Manager had an amazing recording rig and recorded this show for our archives. To shed a little light on our past, here’s the show from back when. Enjoy!

Things To Look Out For

In this world, there are plenty of things to watch and look out for. For instance, I’m writing to you from the Old Oregon Trail Highway (currently touring with country outfit The Sweetback Sisters). Heading towards Idaho, we decided to pull off and check out the view. What I wasn’t but should have been looking out for were the flying baby ants. Look like fleas. Maybe they were fleas.

Look out for bears. Yadda, yadda.

But the point is, look out for music with my name attached to it. There’s going to be a lot of it coming your (yes YOUR) way. And soon.

Live From London!!

Back in April, long time friend and musical mentor Shane Allessio and I played a few of my original songs on a balcony in London in front of a camera and some friends. Here’s the result! Thank you so much, BalconyTV!!!

1987 Gibson Les Paul

A friend of mine was kind enough to let me hang onto his beautiful Gibson Les Paul circa 1987 – here’s me taking it for a spin for the first time!!

RIP Melvin Sparks

While I was at SouthBySouthWest in Austin, TX this past week, I was hit between the eyes with a hard-to-handle piece of news. Melvin Sparks passed away unexpectedly at the young and spry age of 64. Just a week before, I was playing one of he songs he was known for with the two musicians he was known for playing with. I’m lucky enough to be considered a part of Beau Sasser Trio, based in Northampton, MA – here’s a clip from that show with BST (feat. Bill Carbone on drums, me on guitar and special guest Jamemurrell Stanley on congas). We play tomorrow night (3/23/11) at 10pm, Bishop’s Lounge, Northampton, MA. No cover.

On The Road with Seth Glier

Hope everyone’s had a relatively easy winter… Seth and I had a great time on tour and for those of you who missed us (or can’t get enough!!), here’s a couple clips for ya! Enjoy!
